Property magazine BELLEVUE crowned Finca Son Gorem II its “Pearl of the Month” in issue 5/2024 — before ground had even been broken. On 14,319 m² of private land near Ses Salines, a modern finca is rising in biological brick construction: conceived turnkey, uncompromising in quality, with an open view of Puig de Sant Salvador.
Clean cubes in a Mares natural-stone look, floor-to-ceiling windows and a generous living, dining and kitchen space with an open fireplace. Perfectly oriented to the south, the architecture opens onto the garden, the pool and the wide land — set among lavender, olive groves and centuries-old natural-stone walls.
The upper floor with its open gallery belongs to the light-flooded master suite — with an en-suite bath, a private terrace and open views across the fields to the sea. On the ground floor are two further bedrooms with en-suite baths and direct access to the garden and pool.
The heated saltwater infinity pool forms the centre of the park-like grounds — with a lounge and barbecue area, 50 m² of terraces and 44 m² of pergolas draped in bougainvillea and wisteria. Usable all year round, with views across your own land rather than at the neighbours.
From the terrace, the view reaches across olive groves and fields to the south coast — and to Puig de Sant Salvador. The state-of-the-art building services — solar, heat pumps, underfloor heating with individual room control and home automation — stay invisibly in the background.

Son Gorem II lies near Ses Salines in the south of Mallorca — in a landscape of olive groves, almond trees and centuries-old dry-stone walls. No neighbour at your back, no through traffic: space, calm and the open view of Puig de Sant Salvador.
The land from the air — the sea on the horizon
Full transparency instead of promises: we document what we build — with images taken directly on site and from the air. New entries appear with every construction phase. So you can already see today the quality that will later lie behind the plaster.
The upper-floor masonry of Mallorcan perforated clay bricks has been laid, the floor slab poured — and inside, the massive, freshly struck reinforced-concrete staircase already links both levels. Lintels and ring beams frame the generous window and door openings that look out over the Ses Salines landscape: for the first time, the full volume of the finca can truly be experienced.

The ground-floor shell is standing. From the air you can see how the finca settles into the landscape of dry-stone walls and olive trees — and along the driveway the new natural-stone walls are already rising.

The reinforced-concrete skeleton is standing: columns and beams have been struck, the ground-floor slab is poured and fitted with fall protection. From the future upper floor, the view already reaches across the fields — right where the master suite will later be.

The ground floor is growing: concrete columns and masonry are up, the prestressed-concrete floor joists are laid, ring beams and lintels reinforced. The yellow slab formwork carries what will become the second level just a few weeks later.

The strip foundations have been poured and struck. Work on the slab above the lower level begins straight afterwards: prestressed-concrete floor joists are laid, infill blocks set, and the reinforcement inspected before concreting.

The blinding layer sits on the foundation strips, the axes are marked out, the drilling points set. By the end of the month, the first reinforcement cages stand in the formwork — millimetre-precise work that no one will ever see again.

The excavation is complete. Mallorca’s southeast is built on marès limestone — the same rock the villages of the region are made of now lies as spoil at the edge of the pit.

Construction begins: the building plot is cleared and levelled, the foundations are staked out, the first limestone broken. The dry-stone walls at the edge of the property remain untouched — they are part of the concept.

This is how it began: a wide clearing between rows of trees and dry-stone walls, a few minutes from Ses Salines. The first drone shots show the land before ground was broken — and why as little of it as possible should change.

Living, kitchen and pool on the ground floor, the master suite with its own terrace above — compact, flooded with light and opening fully to the garden. Status: base project 06/2024.
Ses Salines is a village without a façade, in both senses: no souvenir shops, no neon signs — just natural-stone houses with green shutters and shaded squares. On Thursdays a small market fills the Plaça Major, and afterwards the village belongs to itself again.
Kilometres of fine sand and Caribbean-turquoise water — just ten minutes away by car, plus the salt flats with their flamingos.
Fifteen minutes to the coast: the marinas and fishing harbours of the southeast — from an aperitif by the water to your own mooring.
Restaurants, shops and a weekly market in the village, just 2 km away — and all around, the wide, protected landscape of the south.
In recent years, some of the island’s finest country homes have quietly changed hands here — the location is remarkable, the supply scarce.
Three neighbouring fincas on private land — Son Gorem II is the “Pearl of the Month” of the series, crowned by property magazine BELLEVUE.
